I met with the owner of Barriere’s PetroCan station and A&W drive-thru/restaurant. I’ve known E for some time through the Barriere and District Chamber of Commerce and-until I quit-my few-times-a-week coffee!
I let him know that we’d be interested in taking his used oil and he was completely open to it. In fact, he’s been supplying friends of ours who have been trying to burn the oil in their converted outdoor wood furnace.
I showed him the photo of the funnel and stand that we could supply to make pouring the oil back in their original containers but they already filter and pump the cooled oil back in to the 5 gallon containers. He said they produce around three containers a week, which wouldn’t be enough for us…but we also know the owners of the OTHER A&W in Clearwater, about 40 kms to the north of us. And, being in Kamloops frequently also means we have a potenital source there, too.
Next on our list: test drive some used Mitsubishi Delicas to see what we think of driving on the wrong side of the car!

Well I guess if a girl from Little Fort can get used to it, then a girl from Darfield can, too! How’s it going in Japan? We are still following the news and thinking of all of you…

Hi – I found your website through Michael Reynold’s earthship website and have become a frequent reader – I find you guys so inspiring!
My dad, who lives in Austria, converted a 1996 Ford Escort and whenever he fires up the engine it smells magically of fried chicken – a bonus of the conversion 🙂
